1Which payment systems are used and are they secure?
MyBraai offers customers three options to pay: 1) EFT, customers can choose to open up their personal banking website to process payments through an Electronic Funds Transfer 2) iPay, we have integrated with iPay one of South Africa's leading online payment gateway which is used by one of South Africa's largest stores 3) PayFast, we have also integrated with PayFast which has a 3D secure payment system for customers to choose to pay via EFT or credit/debit card
2How long does delivery take?
All orders within Gauteng are delivered next-day. Orders placed outside of Gauteng have scheduled delivery dates and are on average delivered within 2-3 working days (an email confirming your order will verify the specific date). Deliveries are made between Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, we are unable to deliver on weekends at this stage and therefore any orders placed on Friday-Sunday will be delivered on the following Monday.
3If I cook a product can I store the leftovers in the refrigerator?
Yes, but keep in mind that our vacuum-sealed bags are not re-sealable. Any leftovers should be placed in a covered container in the refrigerator.
4How should I thaw my meat products?
MyBraai products should always be thawed on a dish in the refrigerator in the vacuum-sealed package. This is the safest way to thaw food, and allows it to retain their natural juices and extraordinary flavor. Do not thaw products at room temperature or under hot water. While smaller items, usually thaw within 24 hours in the refrigerator, larger roasts, and chickens may take 24-48 hours to fully thaw in the refrigerator. Thawed steaks and chops may be refrozen as long as they have remained refrigerated and have not been thawed longer than one day. Important: Sometimes the vacuum - package can leak while the product is thawing. This is a result of small pinholes that can occur during the freezing or shipping. As long as the product remained frozen and was refrigerated while thawing, this should not be a concern. We recommend using a baking dish or pan to catch liquids.
5Should I remove the packaging before cooking?
Yes, all packaging is for product preservation and shipping purposes. Before cooking any product, please make sure to remove all packaging.
6What does aging mean?
Aging meat is a process that breaks down a steak and makes it more tender and flavourful. Meat is placed in special, temperature & humidity controlled refrigerators that are carefully monitored. The meat ages in this environment while its natural enzymes break down the steak.
7What if my steaks are a brown color?
When we vacuum seal our steaks, the oxygen is taken out of the package. This typically results in a deep, brown color in the steaks. Once the steak is thawed and exposed to oxygen again, some of the red color should return. Keep in mind that an aged steak will often have a darker color than a fresh steak as a result of the aging process.
8How do I thaw MyBraai items?
In order to preserve flavour and tenderness, thaw your MyBraai meats in the refrigerator. It will take anywhere from 12 to 18 hours for steaks. Plastic wrap should not be removed until you are ready to cook the steaks. By thawing your steaks out this way, you will preserve the flavour and tenderness of the steaks.
9How long will my steaks last in the freezer?
For the best flavour and tenderness, we recommend that you cook the steaks within 6 months.
10What items should not be refrozen once thawed?
Chickens should not be refrozen if they are thawed. Once thawed, they can be refrigerated for up to 7 days
11Can I cancel my order?
Yes. We need to be informed of any cancellations at least 1 day prior to the orders shipment date. To cancel your order, please email email@example.com
12What happens if my meat is defrosted once received?
Our cold chain is not broken from dispatch to the customer and therefore as per our terms and conditions that a customer agrees to on placing an order, all our products are to be received in safe and healthy state. It is up to the customer to make sure that on receiving the meat they immediately place them in the cold chain to not ruin the product.
13Is there a minimum order value?
No there are no minimum order values for individual clients however we do have a minimum order value of R2000 for Restaurants and/or QSR chains based in Gauteng and R5000 for customers outside of Gauteng.
14How long does it take for my order to be delivered?
Standard Gauteng orders take 24-48 hours from payment reflecting in our account to be delivered to you. Any orders outside of Gauteng for individuals, are shipped with our weekly orders to the area, alternatively if you are part of a restaurant group we will ship according to your delivery dates as agreed upon between ourselves and your groups Head Office.
1I just placed an order online. How will I know that it has been delivered?
All shipping notifications and tracking numbers will be sent to the email address you provide during the order process. Alternatively, you can login and select "View your order history" under My Account to view all order information.
2Is a personalized message included with my gift?
No problem! You can include a unique gift message when you place your order. All gift messages are displayed on the Packing Slip that the recipient receives in their gift.
3What confirmation should I expect to receive after my order has been placed?
You will receive 2 notices via email after placing your order. The first notification is a summary of your order and it indicates that your order has been received. The second notification is a shipping notification and will inform you of any tracking numbers or shipping information associated with the order. You can also view order information under the "My Account" section on our website. If you do not receive either of these, please contact us via email firstname.lastname@example.org to ensure that your order has been received.
4What forms of payment do you accept?
Online orders may be purchased with Instant EFT through our secure payment platform called iPay.
5What happens if I provide an incorrect shipping address?
If you notice any errors on your order please email us at email@example.com as soon as possible. If the order has not been shipped yet, we will happily correct the shipping address. Unfortunately, once the order is in transit, we are unable to reroute packages.
6Do I need to be at the delivery address to receive my order?
No, the courier will leave the package with a family or staff member who will have to sign for the delivery.
7Do you ship overseas?
Unfortunately, we do not ship outside of South Africa.
8Where are you able to deliver to?
We are able to deliver to anywhere in South Africa for the time being. Delivery schedules can be found under the Delivery/Shipping page.
