From Peru

PDF Print E-mail

So here I am visiting my son and his family in Peru (ja , I know it's a wierd place to visit!)and very eager to taste the local cuisine, having such an educated palate and all, but what does my boere seun want to do? BRAAI!

He borrowed a weber from some ex pat mates and conveniently "forgot" to give it back. The braai was scheduled for Sunday evening and on Saturday night seven of his S.A. mates pitched up needing a place to kip. They were in transit back to S.A., having just hiked the Inca Trail.
The conversation turns to BRAAI and what the most suitable meat would be for this all important occasion. Can you believe it? Some twit suggests that we cook a PERUVIAN specialty GUINNEA PIG!

Who in their right mind would braai that cute little pet and then eat it? I was horrified, so we had prego's instead! Much better!

I often enjoy a cute little pet at a braai. Nothing wrong with that
